| IndUS has acquired
the type certificate, production certificate, appropriate licensing
and permits for the manufacture of an all-metal, single-engine aircraft,
the Thorp T-211, designed by the world renowned aircraft designer,
John Thorp. All the required tooling for the parts needed to assemble
this aircraft, as well as a large reserve of already manufactured
parts to produce the first 30 such aircraft have been obtained.
In addition, we have two flying models of this aircraft, one VFR
and the other full IFR equipped. IndUS has formed a strong working
partnership with Taneja Aerospace and Aviation, Limited (TAAL),
of Bangalore, India. This company is the leading manufacturer of
aviation products and aircraft in India, with expertise ranging
from light composite aircraft to twin engined aircraft, turboprops
and military/space related aviation products. The manufacturing
plant for IndUS will be located within the facilities of TAAL in
the city of Bangalore in Southern India. The final assembly of aircraft
for markets outside the USA will be accomplished in IndUS’
11,000 square foot hangar facility at the Dallas Executive Airport,
in Dallas, Texas, USA. This would give us ready access for exporting
finished aircraft as well as importation of any needed parts or
materials for assembly. We have established networks with aviation
maintenance Technology Training Institution in Dallas to assist
us in the assembly of these aircraft as well.
Deployment of Phase I of the above plan is scheduled to begin by
mid August, 2003. Barring any major obstacles, the assembly of the
first aircraft should be begun by August 15th, 2003 in the USA and
October 15th in India. In Phase II, by the end of the year 2003,
IndUS plans to produce two aircraft per month, as well as produce
parts and sub-assemblies for export purposes. In Phase III IndUS
will increase production to three aircraft per month (mid-July,
2004) along with acquisition of rights for assembly and support
of four-passenger aircraft in India. In addition to manufacturing
complete aircraft for sale in India and elsewhere, IndUS plans to
build EZ-Build kits for the home builder. With these kits, nearly
half of the assembly process is completed for a cost that is only
slightly higher than the basic airframe parts kit. We plan to offer
builder assistance programs at our Dallas facility as well.
Through its collaborative efforts with Luscombe Aircraft Corporation
of Altus, Oklahoma, USA, IndUS will be soon offering a newly produced
four-passenger aircraft with similar options, ease of operations
and economy. We can also facilitate the acquisition of larger, six
and eight passenger aircraft from other countries for the business
and personal flying needs of the Indian public.
